How do I interpret a weekly Mood Score?

Each week, you will receive your child's Mood Score. You will only receive this score one time a week (on Sunday) and that same score will stay on your dashboard until the following Sunday. The score is not representative of your child's current mood. Instead, it represents your child's average mood over the previous week.

The Mood Score is calculated by the MoodRing app using data from the AWARE sensors and from the mood check-ins your child makes in the app.  Mood Scores are calculated differently across individuals using the app. This score is tailored to your child and based on their behaviors and responses in the app.

The possible categories for the Mood Score are: Minimal, Mild, Moderate, Moderately Severe, and Severe. Your teen can change the labels for these categories. Although the names might change, the color and meaning of each category will remain the same. Click here for more information on mood labels.

The data you can see on the detail screen for the weekly Mood Score include the number of weekly Mood Scores your child has received, the number of times your child has disagreed with the weekly Mood Score and the total number of days your child has been in the study. In addition, you can view your child's weekly Mood Score data over the past month, the past three months, and across the whole time your child has been using the app.
